Cellfind operates both active and passive location-based services. MTN and Vodacom, South Africa's two largest cellular networks, support its active services such as Vodacom Look 4 Help and MTN 2MyAid.

Our services operate across all cell phones and do not require any initial investment relating to hardware or software upgrades. The products are operable via a wide range of interfaces such as SMS, MMS, USSD, WAP and the Internet.

The accuracy of the location information is dependent upon the density of the cellular network in the specified area. The highest accuracy received to date within South Africa is 31m, whilst the lowest accuracy is approximately 25km.

In general, urban areas receive an accuracy of 100-500m, while rural areas vary from 2km to 10km.
